PODOLOGY UNIT:
Mr. Bacquart David:
Our feet are the base that supports the weight of the body. Over a lifetime, they walk the earth's circumference several times, so they deserve special attention.
An imbalance in a lower limb can result in pain, in the short, medium or long term, in the feet, ankles, knees, pelvis, back, … And this is true for everyone, particularly children (flat feet, pes cavus, genu varum, genu valgum, pigeon toes), teenagers (growth disorders), athletes (stress on muscles and joints – during an effort, the weight of the body can vary from 1 to 8 times).
Rebalancing the foot or the body can also be beneficial after an operation for hallux valgus, knee or hip replacement … , to facilitate convalescence and prevent return of pain.
The Louise Orthopaedic Medical Centre keeps up with the latest podological research and offers treatment perspectives at the spearhead of technology. Through multi-disciplinary care, we have gathered abundant data this is important for the patient.
In podology, after establishing the complete history of the patient's complaints, we analyse his/her gait (walking and/or running) on a treadmill, with a video recording and a computer-assisted force platform (1024 transducers).
All these examinations provide information needed to make functional soles to adjust the position of the feet and correct any static or dynamic disorders. Contact : +32 (0)495 30 74 56
